I went to the Spitalfields branch at lunchtime as Unity Diner (which is amazing!) was closed for a private function. We entered and the lady sat us on a table. The menus were half thrown on the table at us before she disappeared. The furniture was uncomfortable wooden chairs. We waited a while then had to call someone to take the order. We ordered a burger and chips each, a couple of sparkling waters (which arrived in an open flask and in glasses that shall we say, were "well used" and a beer. The beer was warm. I asked for it to be replaced only to be told the keg had been changed so thats why it was warm and I could swap it for a large cold can but it would cost more. I just said to leave it and remove it from the bill. The food arrived and was not hot. It was barely warm. It was bland and had not much taste. We were hungry so just ate it. I asked for some vinegar and the waitress went looking around all the tables and came back with a bottle that literally had the last few drops in it before it was empty.I went to the shared M/F bathroom which was extremely dark and felt dingy. It didnt feel very nice using a shared bathroom. When we asked for the bill, we had to ask for the warm beer to be removed from it as it was left on there. It was a lot of money (£15 each for the luke warm, bland burger and £1.75 each for sparkling tap water - not even in a bottle). The service was extremely poor and the food was even worse. It was just a really horrible experience which we shall definitely not be repeating! Thankfully, Unity Diner is usually open so we will definitely be going back there in future as it is a far superior experience.

It’s been over 10 years and we’d like to think we’re now pretty good at burgers and chips. It’s been a bit of a blur, a lot of hard work, but that’s been half the fun. Good enough just isn’t good enough here. We don’t mean to brag but we’re all about top quality beef, the best potatoes and good times. Don’t just take our word for it though, we’ll let our food and people do the talking. After all, we’re Just Being Honest…
From day one, we wanted to make the best British burgers on any menu, anywhere. So we spent time getting to know the best butchers in London.
And we’re butchers too.
We’ve opened our own butchery so we can make the burgers we’d always dreamed of. Our way. From scratch.
Our beef comes from British native breed cows farmed in Great Britain & Northern Ireland. They’re grass-fed and well looked after with space to roam in the fields during spring, summer and autumn and only see a barn when it’s too cold outside during winter. We’ve also got our own butchery, making our burgers from scratch every single day. See more
