The ceilings of our living room are quite high but without any ceiling light. Thus it is a bit dim for my daughter to play and read there. Once turn on the light, Wow! the whole living room become so bright, full of warm sunshine :-) Now I am not worrying about my daughter's eyes when she read there. The floor light is especially good for the house without bright ceiling light, or for kids' study use.
