Do NOT Purchase

Happy with delivery time and eco friendly packaging but the actual product is awful. The lift off section is totally unusable. On the stairs, it is far too heavy to hold, plus, to vacuum the stairs using the nozzle requires a considerable amount of effort and definitely needs both hands. If you place the main body on the stairs, it falls. It was impossible to keep the lift off section stable, unlike the Vax lift off models which have a lip on the bottom which you can stand on preventing it from teetering and wobbling about. On carpet, it takes so much effort to propel forward it's a real workout and on the return when pulling it towards you, I can not stop it from bouncing and not actually vacuuming the carpet no matter how slow I manoeuvre it. The directional swivel head may as well not be there. So difficult to turn to cut in tight around furniture, again, it takes so much effort it's infuriating. Had 2 Vax Vacuums in the past with this feature and they floated on carpets in comparison. The power cable is on the right hand side. Didn't realise how ridiculous this decision is until you actually try to use the vacuum as a right handed person and have to trail cord around the back of you to hold when using. In addition, the actual lugs holding the cord are so low to the ground it's as if no thought at all has gone into the use and practicalities of this vacuum at all and has been designed by someone who has never vacuumed in their life. On each side of the rollers on the outer body, Hoover have put rubber edges which serve no purpose other than causing the vacuum to stop abruptly when vacuuming next to skirting boards, you then have to virtually lift it away and vacuum further away from the edge! So again, the crevice nozzle has to be used and has this got a brush at the end? Oh no, that would obviously incur extra manufacturing costs, instead you have a hard plastic nozzle scratching all of your paintwork and creating further resentment that I bought this vacuum! I did my research, I read the reviews and watched the promotional video and have come to the conclusion that the lady on the video mustn't have had the power on to be able to clean the stairs with such apparent ease. The filters are nothing more than memory foam, the dust collection chamber is far smaller than comparable models and the lift off pedal is so difficult to operate. It does not realease the lift off section with ease as demonstrated in the video and to locate the base when returning it requires you to physically get on your knees and push the parts together. The unit is so unbalanced it constantly wants to push away from it's housing. I refuse to continue using this contraption. Will try to find a British made vacuum with it's functionality at the fore. Having stayed in many high end holiday properties and have experience using a wide range of vacuums they all have faults, I'm not after perfection but this Hoover model is an absolute joke. I've had mavy Hoover products in the past but no more. Reputation well and truly destroyed.
