DO NOT USE HOPPER – I FEEL SCAMMED.I booked what was advertised as a Deluxe King Room with a Beach View through the Hopper app for 5 weeknights almost $1,000 in total. Based on the listing I trusted this was a quality room in a beachfront building. When I arrived I was shocked. I was sent to a completely different building in a back alley not even part of the main hotel. This building had terrible reviews online and looked nothing like what I booked. The room was tiny, prison-like, dirty, and absolutely did not have a beach view. There were hairs and filth everywhere. My vacation mood was completely ruined. When I showed the hotel staff what I had booked through Hopper they said Hopper is a third-party app and this kind of mistake happens often. Since they were fully booked they told me I had no choice but to stay in this horrible room. I spent hours trying to fix it and got nowhere.I then contacted Hopper. They just said they were “very sorry.” That’s it. They offered me an upgrade to a better room but only if I paid an additional $600 for 3 nights. Are you kidding me? That’s not a solution. I had already paid nearly $1,000 and only booked this place because I thought I was getting a decent beachfront room. Had I known the truth I would never have chosen this hotel and I would never have used Hopper.I had traveled from another state for this trip. Hotels were fully booked so I couldn’t just leave or move somewhere else. Hopper left me stuck in a disgusting room that I did NOT choose and now expects me to pay even more to fix their mistake.I feel completely scammed. Hopper is NOT reliable. This app misrepresents hotel listings and takes no real responsibility when things go wrong.Stay away from Hopper. Stick to Expedia or Booking.com at least they’re trustworthy.
