I purchased travel disruption insurance for myself and a friend. The policy is supposed to reimburse if your flight is delayed by 2 hours or more. In my situation, the flight was delayed significantly beyond 2 hours, and I received an automatic refund, which was a pleasant surprise. However, my friend's experience on a different flight was not as favorable. His flight was delayed by 2 hours and 2 minutes, and the company began creating reasons to deny the claim, altering the definition of what constitutes a delay (for instance, considering boarding time rather than total delay); they also referenced an incorrect departure time based on a low estimate. Thus, this insurance seems to work only for substantial delays that are beyond their ability to dispute. Otherwise, they tend to find ways to avoid payment. I view this as a company acting in bad faith. Not a service I would recommend.

I spent over four hours on the phone to make this happen. Do yourself a favor and choose a different booking platform.
