I placed an order for Easter. I wanted to gift something a little bit more luxury compared to what you can buy in the supermarket. I buy hotel chocolat on and off quite regularly, usually the sleekster boxes of chocolates and the mix and match chocolate selectors. I spent about £70 on four 40% milk chocolate splattered egg easter eggs, a white chocolate splattered easter egg, a lamb and mint sandwich egg, a chocolate chick and buttons and some carrot cake chocolates. Several eggs arrived broken, which didn't surprise me, as there was a thin piece of paper below the eggs and one above. Not well packaged at all. The easter egg chocolate was exceptionally poor quality. I was quite shocked at how poor they were. I do not believe they were 40%, as this would usually result in a rich cholately taste. The chocolate tasted watered down. I would even go as far to say that I don't think it is good enough to use in cooking. I have fed this back so far they have refunded for the broken eggs - but only thanked me for feedback regarding the poor quality chocolate. I would not recommend hotel chocolate for easter chocolate/eggs.
