I learned about a new peer-to-peer investment option when another company announced its closure about five years back. I am still exploring that business while developing my connection with the new service. This journey has been rewarding, providing me with solid investment returns while contributing to a worthwhile cause.
I have been an investor with the company for almost five years, and it has been an immensely gratifying journey. What stands out to me is how the platform has successfully innovated and expanded while maintaining a strong focus on the user. Even with their growth, the quality of customer support has stayed remarkably high—a rarity in this field. My investment here has become essential to my monthly income, and I feel very confident in the company's future.
I've been investing since the very first property they launched which must be over 5 years ago now. I have been very happy with the balance of risk/reward for an investment of this type and I would have no hesitation recommending it as part of a well diversified portfolio (e.g. alongside cash, stocks & shares) but please do your own due diligence and make sure you are comfortable with the risk.The customer service is excellent with the team always very responsive to questions and are very open to suggestions for how they can improve the business, processes and website.A good example of a business built on solid foundations, with a sustainable business model that has been growing steadily over the last 5 or so years. A far cry from some of the other Peer 2 Peer investment platforms.Of course, the icing on the cake is that you get to help so very good causes whilst also making a healthy return on your investment.
I trust Housemartin. I am confident they will continue to act in the best interests of their investors, and be supportive of tenants needs. I have been an investor on the platform since its early days- I put no more than 6% of my investment into any one property to spread the risk, and have consistently been getting a 6.5% to 7% return on money invested. I have also been successful in selling a couple of investments so while this isn't an investment if you need immediate liquidity I have got cash out when required. As others have said Housemartin do good work, so I would be prepared to take a lower return because of the society aspect to their activity, but actually the return is really good. Much of the plaudits should go to the management team who are always helpful, always responsive, and seem to really care about all their stakeholhers- not just themselves. Totally deserves 5 stars.
I continue to be impressed by this company. Recently one borrower has reneged on their contract to buy back a property, and this will entail long legal battles to sort out. Every other P2P company I have dealt with leaves its myriad of small investors just hanging, waiting for whatever outcome. However, Assetz Exchange, or Housemartin as they have recently rebranded themselves, have offered to buy out us small investors while they take the hit of pursuing the errant borrower. Fantastic – I wish other P2P companies would look after their small investors in the same way!
Very impressed with the company. The quality of investment opportunities provided are good quality, the inflation linked rent increases help ensure a good return in high periods of inflation, communication is impressive and the investment provides housing for those who need it. I have been an investor on the platform since 2019 and I am extremely impressed by the product and team! Transparent fees and intuitive platform interface. You can select each individual property to invest in, with all necessary information provided and competitive yields. Great way to diversify into UK properties without hands-on management or high capital requirement. I also value the focus on charities to provide good quality housing to an underserved group.
My previous review of A.Ex. was written at the height of the theoretical fall in A.Ex. house prices - around March this year, so I was not very pleased with my investments. This was nothing to do with A.Ex., but purely the result of the UK housing market. After a period of fairly steady theoretical losses on most of their properties, there was a slow marginal improvement in prices, followed by a further steadying up. Over the last couple of weeks, the theoretical prices A.Ex. properties have, on average, been improving again. As I am very keen to invest in this type of product, by helping society, I would suggest that now might be the time to invest, while the 'bottom' seems to have been passed, and the more recent properties generally have a better rate of return, as evidenced by their prices on the exchange.
