Received a text promising someone from the local office would call me in two minutes. 24 hours later someone did. Then they transferred me to a city 50 miles away, with a bad phone line to someone who was hardly polite.
It turns out they are brokers, not insurers.
He arrived at a question "What is the value of my car?" and I had no idea, but he was "not allowed to help me" find a value. But if it was over-valued, the insurance company would cut the value to what they thought was right, so why not say that straightaway? After five or six attempts to sort this out, faced with blank refusal, I said goodbye.
The whole experience left me cross and unwilling to ever try Howden Insurance again.
