Just got off the phone with an insurance rep who told me that my travel insurance would not cover a piece of luggage that was stolen. After talking to her for over 15 minutes, she could not provide a satisfactory explanation as to how that decision was made–it ultimately boiled down to "because I said so." Apparently If makes decisions completely arbitrarily, not according to any sort of objective criteria, and then can't even argue or defend their decisions. Take your money elsewhere.
