On vacation, I had my wallet stolen from a locked glove compartment in a locked car. I reported it to the police and got a police report. I called and canceled my credit cards and thankfully did not have financial loss with those. I did have to replace my drivers license for $16.00, and I claimed that expense with IMG. I sent them proof of the $16.00 charge and the police report. They declined to pay a measly $16.00 for the following reason:
We will not pay for damage to or loss of:
7. Keys, money, and credit cards; securities, stamps, tickets, and documents;
Tickets and documents. Really? That's a big part of why a person would buy travel insurance to replace a lost or stolen ticket and/or document. I feel like this is a lousy sword to fall on for IMG. I will go back to using Allianz. I have had excellent experience with Allianz. I only switched because I thought the medical benefit in IMG's travel policy sounded better than Allianz's. Glad I didn't have to use IMG's travel medical coverage. I hate to think how let down I could have been by that. Good grief.
