I travelled 13 Day Sri Lanka Uncovered with Inspiring Vacations December 2025.Unfortunately the advertised intinerary did not reflect what actually occurred on the tour and several serious issues arose during the trip.
Key intinerary items were altered or ommitted, including on the final day where a schedule fish market did not occur despite two passengers wishing to attend. The guide asked who wanted to go, then walked away and did not return.
More concerning were issues of duty of care. I became unwell on Christmas Day and advised the guide at breakfast that I was too sick to go anywhere. I remained unwell and alone in my room for approximately 14 hours. I contacted the office mid afternoon to ask them to advise the guide of my condition. The guide knocked on my door at 9.00pm at which point I advised him again i was unwell. I was subsequently spoken to in an aggressive manner for not 'making contact' despite advising him twice that day.
I struggled through the next day and then my condition worsen and a fellow traveller arranged medical assistance and a bed change of linen for me.
There were also health and safety concerns..Accommodation issues including a leaking bidet/and toilet water across bathroom, exposed wires which I reported on arrival, safari vehicles that were unsafe, lack of ensuring seat belt in place, dangerous driving and passengers being instructed to stand at the back of the open sided jeeps..
Additionally group management was inconsistent and at time dismissive. As a non drinker, i was excluded when alcohol was offered to the group.
I have raised these along with other concerns with Inspiring Vacations but feel my experience has been dismissed rather than addressed.
I would urge prospective travellers to be aware that the itinerary and actual experience may differ significantly and that support when unwell was lacking.
