I travelled 13 Day Sri Lanka Uncovered with Inspiring Vacations December 2025.Unfortunately the advertised intinerary did not reflect what actually occurred on the tour and several serious issues arose during the trip.
Key intinerary items were altered or ommitted, including on the final day where a schedule fish market did not occur despite two passengers wishing to attend. The guide asked who wanted to go, then walked away and did not return.
More concerning were issues of duty of care. I became unwell on Christmas Day and advised the guide at breakfast that I was too sick to go anywhere. I remained unwell and alone in my room for approximately 14 hours. I contacted the office mid afternoon to ask them to advise the guide of my condition. The guide knocked on my door at 9.00pm at which point I advised him again i was unwell. I was subsequently spoken to in an aggressive manner for not 'making contact' despite advising him twice that day.
I struggled through the next day and then my condition worsen and a fellow traveller arranged medical assistance and a bed change of linen for me.
There were also health and safety concerns..Accommodation issues including a leaking bidet/and toilet water across bathroom, exposed wires which I reported on arrival, safari vehicles that were unsafe, lack of ensuring seat belt in place, dangerous driving and passengers being instructed to stand at the back of the open sided jeeps..
Additionally group management was inconsistent and at time dismissive. As a non drinker, i was excluded when alcohol was offered to the group.
I have raised these along with other concerns with Inspiring Vacations but feel my experience has been dismissed rather than addressed.
I would urge prospective travellers to be aware that the itinerary and actual experience may differ significantly and that support when unwell was lacking.
My family and I chose a travel service for our trip to Peru in July 2025, and the communication from the company was extremely poor both before and during the tour. The experience with the airline used for the tour was the worst I've encountered. Check-in was chaotic, with one long line for all flights, and the self-check-in process was confusing. We received one baggage sticker for multiple bags, which was inconvenient.
During our flight, the plane had a malfunction, and we had to disembark, which was not the company's fault. However, when we reached out for assistance, we were met with unhelpful responses from the support team, leaving us to handle the situation with the airline ourselves.
On the tour, my family was placed on standby for an internal flight while the rest of the group boarded, and again, the company provided no support when we informed them. This caused us to miss a day of the tour and incur additional costs for the flight and accommodation, which we only managed to get reduced rates for with the help of local assistance.
While I understand that the company cannot control the airline, the lack of support in a foreign country was very disappointing. We faced numerous issues with the airline, yet received minimal help from the travel service.
Despite their acknowledgment of errors, we received no compensation. Having paid in full well in advance, I strongly recommend considering other travel options or planning your own arrangements before opting for this company again.
Our holiday in Japan was nothing short of amazing, and a big part of that was thanks to our incredible tour guide, Calvin. From the moment we met him, Calvin’s warm personality and deep knowledge of Japanese culture made the experience truly special.
He went above and beyond to ensure every detail was perfect—whether it was navigating the bustling streets of Tokyo, explaining the history behind Kyoto’s stunning temples, or recommending hidden gems for authentic local cuisine. Calvin’s storytelling brought each destination to life, and his ability to balance structure with flexibility meant we could enjoy spontaneous moments without feeling rushed.
One highlight was visiting a traditional tea house in Kyoto, where Calvin patiently explained the significance of the tea ceremony and even taught us a few phrases in Japanese. His passion for the country was contagious, and it made us appreciate Japan on a much deeper level.
If you’re planning a trip to Japan, I can’t recommend Calvin enough. He’s professional, friendly, and truly cares about creating unforgettable experiences. This was a holiday we’ll cherish forever!
