Check your policy is updated and correct and there in your account

For the last two years I have been insured by Intelligent for my home and contents. I renewed this year as they gave me a timely renewal quote which was the best I could find at the time. All went smoothly as the year before had. However, when I looked at my on line account with them a few days after the renewel date, I discovered that my old policy had lapsed (as it should have) but there were no NEW policy details showing.An on line chat produce a suncer apology, with an assurance the matter had been referred to the renewel team as urgent.This morning an email stating the policy was renewed and policy details would be in my account. Sure enough they were there.So no worries, but...... What if I hadn't checked, how long before anyone at Intelligent would have noticed.A cautionary tale on taking responsibility for your own household admin and not expecting it to be always done by the company you have paid to do it!
