If I could give negative stars to Intermountain Healthcare as a whole, I definitely would! Starting with how the doctors / nursing staff do NOT properly explain insurance coding to patients when requesting certain tests (including OVER CHARGED blood work – over $250 for simple blood tests that Lab Corp with same tests properly charges insurance & is less than $75) and coding all tests as diagnostic vs routine/preventative, as to assure that the insurance company (Blue Cross Blue Shield) will NOT cover and overly charge the patient. Secondly, try for close to a year to get coding audits done on the blood work & other tests and get the run-around, with ZERO assistance to get the coding properly resolved! Lastly, the Financial Assistance Department for Intermountain Healthcare is either a Scam or Fraud – cannot reach a person when calling and when filling out the proper paperwork and sending it in via e-mail, only to get AI generated e-mail replies for over two months! Intermountain Healthcare is a Private / non-profit organization, but they definitely want to profit from patients for poorly coded over-priced tests and zero assistance. I would NOT recommend Intermountain Healthcare – dealing with them, one can see why no one trusts the Health Care Industry!
