I was given what appeared to be an amazing bouquet of flowers yesterday from a young relative which had obviously cost a bomb. On unwrapping I found the majority of the stems were propped up by wires, were rotten and smelled putrid. A lot of effort had been put into making these blooms look good when they were well past their best. One carnation head was put on top of a plastic stem with a small bulb but was still obviously dying. The pleasant smell came from the wrapping paper. Do I tell my young relative that she has been conned or not? I will certainly advise her not to buy any more flowers from your outlets. Shame on you!
