I rented a car from Italy Car Rent at Olbia Airport for about three weeks between August and September 2025, at a cost of approximately €1200. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing and unsatisfactory on several levels.The replacement vehicle assigned to me—an “upgrade” costing an additional €170 compared to the original booking—was in unacceptable cleanliness conditions and unfit for use. I noticed the dirt under the mats and sand everywhere only after arriving home, about two hours after pickup. When I reported the issue, the on-site staff were rude and indifferent, claiming “all our cars are in this condition,” as if this were something to brag about rather than a disgrace.The central office contacted by email showed no genuine concern or willingness to resolve the issue effectively. Italy Car Rent offered to reimburse me (eg€20) for the cleaning cost, which I had already done myself, on the condition that I provide them with an invoice made out to their company. Additionally, they offered a “discount” on fuel—allowing me to return the car with only 3/8 tank instead of the initial 6/8—which I found inadequate and offensive considering the inconveniences endured.In the end, I had to clean the car myself, enduring an unexpected and uncompensated inconvenience. Despite my long-standing loyalty as a customer, this careless and disrespectful management caused me to lose all trust and loyalty towards them.I have decided not to pursue further financial claims but to publicly share my experience, including photographic evidence and their own responses, to warn other potential customers.I strongly advise against using this service if you expect professionalism, customer care, and quality in car rental.
