The pay is disgusted low. It is made worse by the fact that what is paid to deliver pamphlets these days is less about half of what was paid some 20 years ago. You are also required to download an app onto a smart phone and have the app track your movement while you are delivering. And then there was the notification one year the walkers would receive a Christmas bonus. When I checked the contracts and how much was paid and compared that with contracts from over the year I found there was no detectable bonus. I enquired about bonus and was advised, one had been included in the amount. I asked how much the bonus was and was advised by my supervisor, that they did not have that information. I asked why the bonus was not listed as a seperate entry on the contract and pay statement. I was advised they do not list seperate items on them any more. Given the extremely low amount that is paid to walkers and that they are tracked, then it is nothing short of modern day slavery.
