I paid over $200 for a Sri Lanka ETA through iVisa while trying to renew my visa and remain compliant with immigration requirements.
Instead, the document I received could not be used at all at immigration.
This is the key point: I paid a premium for a document that had absolutely no practical use whatsoever, despite acting in good faith to follow the correct process.
What makes this worse is that iVisa openly admits they do not verify whether a customer already holds a valid visa and provide no eligibility warnings. In other words, their system allows you to pay for something that may be completely unusable, and they take no responsibility for that outcome.
I raised this multiple times, provided clear evidence, and asked for escalation. Every response hid behind terms and conditions instead of addressing the actual issue. Their position is that because a document was issued, the service was ‘completed,’ even if that document is useless in reality.
That is not a service.
A company that knowingly allows customers to purchase documents that may not be usable, and then refuses to take responsibility when they aren’t, is not operating in a genuinely customer focused way.
I was simply trying to do the right thing and follow immigration rules, and ended up paying over $200 for something that could not be used at all.
Be extremely cautious. You may end up paying a significant amount for something you cannot use, with no meaningful support or resolution when things go wrong.
