This has been one of the most frustrating customer experiences I’ve had.

I cancelled my subscription through the app in December, yet I was still charged again come January. I always received standard JFC emails before the premium subscription, so when these kept coming through, this seemed normal.

When I saw the new charge however I contacted support. They claimed I had been sent an email to complete the cancellation after the app process. I never received such an email. When pushed, they also said I was sent a renewal reminder, I never received such an email.

Let’s be clear: if a customer never receives an email, that is not the customer’s fault. Simply stating “our system shows it was sent” is not proof of delivery, and it certainly isn’t a valid excuse to charge someone or refuse a refund.

I raised this multiple times and even showed evidence when requested, then MORE evidence when further requested that no such email ever arrived. Despite this they repeated the same scripted response and refused to properly investigate or take responsibility. Instead, they shifted the blame entirely onto me saying that their system said it was sent and they can't help what happens to it once it is sent.

Charging customers after cancellation and then hiding behind automated systems and unverified email delivery is unacceptable.

At best, it shows a complete lack of accountability. At worst, it feels like a deliberate, deceptive and underhand way to avoid issuing refunds.

There was no meaningful support, no ownership of the issue, and no attempt to resolve it fairly.

I would strongly warn others to be very cautious. If anything goes wrong, don’t expect them to take responsibility or treat you reasonably.

For the sake of £30 they've entirely destroyed their legitimacy with me. I will now be approaching my bank for the chargeback I am owed.
