I've been a customer of Harmon kardon and them jbl for 20 years.I had the classics and work in the music industry these people do not care at all about product quality or trade/ consumer legislation. Ive experienced the same common theme of non response, repeating the same unhelpful information and being passed around a customer service centre somewhere in the world you can't call.The latest issue I had was with the charge 5, brand new won't hold a charge and overheats. I live off mainland USA but not in the states but everything is shipped through USA. They said they will replace it as long as they get the freshly delivered speaker to them! However that in of itself will probably cost the value of the speaker. I had to pay duty customs taxes and shipping to get the first one here. They suggested I travel to the US to replace it! Then they go on to say they don't have international warrantys? Which implies they cannot be an international company , yet trade as one.No one is accountable, just mass production and larger profits for shareholders and the larger mother company the destiny of all those that sell out to capitalism. Looks like jbl will be following all the other brands that made the same mistake as consumers turn to more brands which offer a product that meets its description.However I did contact the Federal Trade Commision and they have said that given the large number of complaints they are receiving they will be pursuing matters. This can result in a large law suit and them having to pay out compensation to customers. I have also contacted Harmon kardon directly, the international team and Facebook, so will update if there is any resolution to this matter, which I'm still hoping there will be.Otherwise, they have lost my endorsement and about 40 other people who I work with that will not be stocking selling supplying or promoting there goods anymore. Furthermore when you look for the serial number under the cover for the out charge port, it clearly states made in Vietnam? So clearly not am American made product. Looks like they are refurbishing old and broken units and sending them off and then "losing" or having "issues" with there delivery centre's? Dubious to say the least. That over 52% of customers have left 1 star reviews suggests jbl has lost its touch.
