⭐☆☆☆☆ 1-Star Review – JCT600 Castleford

I had a very disappointing and stressful experience with JCT600 Castleford that I feel others should be aware of.I found a BMW 530d Touring on AutoTrader and called to check availability. I spoke to Mandy on Sunday afternoon, who confirmed the car was available and sent me a video of it. I was happy to proceed and planned to travel down on Monday to buy the car, assuming everything was as described.I provided my car details for part exchange and specifically asked if the BMW could be reserved. Mandy told me it was not possible to reserve the car in the system because someone previously had reserved it and disappeared — however, she assured me multiple times that the car was reserved under my name.On Monday morning, Mandy called with a part-exchange valuation. The offer was low, so I explained I would sell my car to Webuyanycar instead and then buy the BMW outright. Before doing this, I again asked if the BMW was definitely reserved for me, and once again I was told clearly that the car was mine.Based on this assurance, I:Bought a train ticket from London to CastlefordDrove to Webuyanycar to sell my vehicleWhen I was literally 200 metres away from Webuyanycar, I received a phone call — not from Mandy, but from her manager (I believe his name was Ryan). He asked if I had sold my car yet and then told me not to sell it, saying there had been “confusion” and that someone else had reserved the BMW the night before. This completely contradicted everything I had been told previously. After being asked to wait for an update, I later found out the BMW had already been sold to someone else.I was extremely frustrated and disappointed. This situation could have left me without a car, and it only didn’t because of luck. I later received a message saying they would refund my train ticket, but several days later I still have not received the money.A few days after that, the manager called again saying the BMW was “back for sale” because the buyer supposedly couldn’t afford insurance — which did nothing to rebuild trust after the way this was handled.Overall, this was very poor communication, broken promises, and unprofessional handling of a serious purchase. I travelled, spent money, and made decisions based entirely on assurances that turned out not to be true.I would strongly advise anyone dealing with this dealership to get everything confirmed in writing and not rely on verbal promises.
