I used to have high regard for the Jet2 brand until my families recent experience with our upcoming holiday. They are not the cheapest, especially in school holidays where they inflate their prices terribly, but knew we were paying for good service and family friendly flight times. However, a short while ago, my wife received an email from Jet2 advising they had moved our return flight from Gran Canaria by 6 hours!!! Meaning our flight would now depart at 9.30pm and get us back to Stansted early ours next morning. To say we were disgusted by this was an understatement, as they know at this point (having booked many months before) people have no hope of finding an alternative at a reasonable price only a few months before departure and no choice but to accept. Having two young children myself and having booked this holiday/flight times because they were workable, I felt utterly betrayed by Jet2. The fact Jet2 know this flight will be packed with families in easter holidays makes this all the more reprehensible - clearly some awful and unpleasant people making these decisions at Jet2. What made this even worse, which I could not believe, is that there was no refund of some of what we had paid for our holiday (over 4k) to reflect we were now stuck on a terrible flight that they would usually charge significantly less to take. The original flight times for our holiday are the type Jet2 charge a premium for. I feel so disgusted with Jet2 casually ruining the end of our holidays and changing our flight so drastically, with no offer of compensation. I have abandoned plans we had to travel with them again and have instead booked our October trip to Tenerife with Easyjet Holidays - whom I will add charge less and have never changed a flight like this without compensation.
