We rarely bring cash back but this year we brought back 49000 Philippine Pesos (£680 purchased at 72 Pesos to £). We were given a return rate of 93 Pesos to £ which meant we would receive £526!! So JL make £154 on the deal. I’m not saying that they are alone in this rip-off but I thought that getting currency at the airport was a mistake, not at JL. A fixed fee would be a better option for me. I’d noticed in the Philippines and Thailand that the rates were better than the U.K. so I’ll be doing that in future.
