I followed a link to a testosterone testing kit on social media and was tempted by the low price of £32.95. However, when I checked out, the price had risen to £39.98. I was happy to pay this price.
I received several follow-up emails explaining the process and one mentioned that regulations required a second venous blood test. This was new to me so I contacted customer support to ask about the additional test and how it would be taken. I received an email explaining the reasons, a BSSM guideline and a requirement, along with a link to book my blood test. This showed a cost of £79.95 which was a bit of a shock.
I expressed my annoyance and disgust at the unexpected additional test cost, which wasn’t explained in the extensive literature. The customer service agent assured me it was clear on their website, but I found the explanation buried deep within the literature. Furthermore, it explained that for £80, I could have the initial test and blood draw with an appointment with a clinician, but this option wasn’t clearly presented during the purchase or checkout process.
You are not allowed to post links on trip advisor, but the site you are sent to from social media has no clear mention of additional tests especially additional costs. Makes it out that it is an easy to do test at home.
While I can’t complain about the product service or delivery speed, I believe the literature is intentionally verbose and designed to confuse customers.
