We came across JoyBuy while searching for the best price on the iPhone 17 Pro Max, and at £1,199 they were the cheapest by quite a margin. We hadn’t heard of them before, so after a bit of research (and seeing they’re a Chinese company aiming to compete with Amazon), we decided to take a chance, especially since we were covered paying via PayPal and credit card.
Ordering was straightforward, although it’s worth noting that while they advertise an £8 sign-up credit, you’re required to create an account anyway and the credit isn’t quite as straightforward as it sounds, so don’t be swayed by that alone and their code for order of £99 and launch10 £10 off code didn’t work either. We probably won’t use them again unless it’s a really good deal like this was as poor customer support is our pet hate.
That said, the delivery was genuinely impressive. We ordered at around 9am and the phone arrived by 6pm the very same day. It was delivered by their own courier in a branded van, and for security, we had to provide a PIN on delivery due to the high-value item. That level of service was excellent -faster than Amazon in our experience.
The only downside, and the reason for 4 stars instead of 5, is the customer support. Their chatbot system is extremely frustrating you end up going round in circles being repeatedly asked for your order number and whether you want to speak to an agent, without ever actually getting through to a human. This definitely needs serious improvement.
Overall, a great first experience in terms of price and delivery speed, but let down slightly by poor customer support.
