When you call in Kenwood, they will tell you it’s rising damp and charge you handsomely to treat it. The cost in my case was £2,750.When the treatment doesn’t work and you call on their “guarantee”, they tell you that the dampness is caused by something else and walk away.I had three areas of dampness and paid Kenwood £2,750 for treatment. The dampness persists. But when they came to inspect, they stated that the dampness was not rising damp but was caused by “the wrong type of plaster,” “condensation,” or “defective rendering.”If this were true, it would have been the cause of the dampness in the first place.I concluded that this company will happily take your money but takes no responsibility for fixing it. They look for any excuse to avoid honouring their guarantee.Kenwood have reinspected twice recently and have tried to fob me off. I put my conclusion in a detailed email to Mr CA, their customer relations manager. He replied to say “If you could please bear with me whilst I look through this and I will of course be in contact”. That was on 25th March. I have heard nothing since that date.
