This is an edited review based on the information obtained from Koofr:I bought Koofr Cloud because it seems to be the most reliable service. pCloud keeps losing my files, and I have no way to recover them (business files, for example). Other companies have a bad reputation, also associated with losing files. My purpose was to transfer from pCloud to Koofr, having a more reliable cloud service that doesn't have indications of losing files from users. However, what I noticed is that Koofr doesn't operate as I would expect. According to what I learned:You must remove your files and folders from the “Sync” folder in order to save storage from your laptop. However, the sync option is activated by default when you upload their app. What does this mean? You are using their app in sync mode, and when you move your files to another folder, they remain in the cloud and vanish from your laptop. Here’s the problem I have with that: I can’t access the same files from my laptop, unless I go through their website. That is not practical for someone who uses a cloud service on a daily basis.I also can’t understand why they would want to keep the cloud service in Sync mode. That may be useful for people who want to have everything on their desktop. But pretty soon, you run out of storage on your computer. I truly wanted this service, and I wanted to trust Koofr. However, their replies showed me stubbornness. Although they explained patiently and quickly enough (despite not giving you a clear option on their app or website for customer service, which I had to find on my own using AI systems), what I noticed is that they have no interest whatsoever in altering their procedures. Their correct answers should be: “We are taking that into consideration for our future updates.” But instead, they asked me to move files around between folders, which doesn’t make my life any easier or justify having the service they provide. In contrast, another cloud service I purchased recently, to replace pCloud (which is truly based on false advertisement and doesn’t protect anything), was clear enough in telling me about their recent updates without trying to justify their previous limitations and bad reviews. I felt much safer in trusting a company that admits its mistakes and works towards improving itself. Not only that, they offered me a special deal to keep me as their client.I had mentioned this previously and I mention it again: Sending users to Reddit to find answers or making them talk to an AI is not the way. I understand many companies are doing this now but it’s truly disrespectful to the user. At least, there should be a direct contact option next to the chatbot. That isn’t complicated to do.What I was looking for was a cloud service that truly saves storage from my laptop while operating like an external drive. Not a sync system. Koofr focuses too much on syncing files. That is great for people who want a messy desktop. Not people like me, who want to see their desktop clean.I appreciate the explanations that Koofr has provided me here and through email. I am also grateful to their wonderful and reliable service. I also appreciate that Koofr was quick to refund and even warned me about the files I had already uploaded in order not to lose them. I may in the future buy their service if they take what I mentioned into consideration and have a look at what pCloud and Internxt are offering users and why they do things the way they do. It is in consideration of all of that that I am changing my previous review. Still, although I really wanted the Koofr service, it is not something I see helping me in my businesses. The Koofr package I bought offers 1TB of storage. My laptop has 500GB. So, basically, I can only copy about 400GB to Koofr while keeping my laptop super slow in their default sync mode. The other option is to keep moving files around, which makes it too complex to operate directly with the same files.
