I booked private transfer for just the 3 off us, from my accommodation at 7am. The previous evening I was emailed to say pick up had changed to 5am with no explanation as to why. I eventually managed to find a contact number and spoke to someone who more or less said it's the only slot now available, take it or leave it. Obviously I had to accept it but then I ended up being picked up by minibus and taken to a large coach. This is not what I paid for. I am trying to get confirmation from Krakow Direct that I booked private transfer but this is not forthcoming. I spoke to someone on the tour and they had also had a similar experience but we're picked up at 4am and then had to sit on the coach for nearly 2 hours and wait for Auschwitz to open! Apparently, (according to an open and honest tour guide), the reason you have to get there early is because at the point of arrival, although you have technically paid for it, you don't actually have a ticket. Auschwitz only allow so many bulk coach tours in one day, hence getting there early doors means your guide is guaranteed to get your tickets. There's a feeling of something underhand here and I would take the advice offered by this guide, which was book direct with Auschwitz yourself and arrange an Uber. Don't worry about having a guide, there's plenty of detailed information and signposts to guide you through at your own pace.Basically - avoid this company when booking a tour.
