I have small and wide feet, size 37. Very few companies make shoes in size 37 wide, and if they do, I've likely tried them and they were never quite good/wide enough and caused pain, numbness and blisters to the point of making me limp off of the bike due to the pain. Over the years I've used Shimano, Sidi, Bont in wide and double wide, and even custom made Rocket 7's which were great until my foot shape changed with age. I have tried 4 different Lake shoes, some of them fit better than others, and I use them for different purposes. The CX333 are my summer race shoes. They fit well and are fully adjustable with the double boa, and the kangaroo leather has molded to my foot well. The MX333 in the same size, for gravel/mtb, did not work for me and squeezed my toes too tight, so I tried the MX242 and they are much better. Though the toe box does taper significantly at the tip, they still fit my wide foot and don't cause the pain and numbness the MX333 caused. For winter and training rides I use the CX201 because they are a bit more comfortable than the CX333 in the toe box due to being all fabric. However, they feel a bit less secure on my foot due to the single boa. I got them in two sizes, and use the bigger size in winter with thick socks, toe covers, and shoe covers, and that works way better than any other winter shoe I've tried because they are wide enough to not restrict my circulation.
