One morning, instead of enjoying a cup of coffee from my espresso machine, I was greeted by a horrible grinding noise from the grinder. No coffee that day, just an evening spent disassembling the machine and pulling out a foreign object from the grinder, which came from a pack of Lavazza Crema e Aroma. It wasn’t a coffee bean, it was a hard piece that jammed the mechanism. Luckily, I managed to remove it and fix the machine myself, but it cost me a lot of nerves and the entire evening.I truly feel sorry for anyone who doesn’t have a knack for repairs, because they’d be looking at a trip to the service center and a hefty repair bill. And in return? Lavazza sent me two packs of coffee. Yep. Two packs for a jammed grinder, wasted time, stress, a dozen emails, and having to stay home for a courier pickup of the remaining coffee and the mystery object. It feels almost disrespectful. I seriously doubt they don’t know what things cost, especially considering their coffee isn’t exactly cheap.Communication with Lavazza was fairly smooth, and the coffee, when it doesn’t come with surprises, tastes good. But after this experience? Thanks, Lavazza, but I’m done. Two stars for two packs. Though honestly, it should’ve been one, and I think you know that.
