Honest Review of the University of Law…

Honest Review of the University of Law (UK) – Especially for Pakistani ApplicantsI had applied to the University of Law for a top-up course with a High Pass qualification and an IELTS score of 8.5 in speaking and 6.5 overall. My academic and language profile fully met their requirements, and I initially received an offer.I later appeared for a pre-CAS interview from Pakistan with Mr. Farhan (Country Representative) and the Pakistani admissions team. During the process, Mr. Salman, one of their team members, assured me that I was good to go and could proceed to record my interview on CAS Shield. I completed the interview, submitted all required documents, and my CAS progress reached 34%.However, things took an unprofessional turn. My CAS progress was suddenly stopped not because of any academic or procedural issue, but apparently due to personal bias and internal politics. I had an unrelated personal disagreement with an assistant admissions manager from a consultancy, who happened to have close ties with Mr. Farhan Asim. It became clear that these internal relationships mattered more to them than a student’s merit or future. This experience exposed a deeply unprofessional and biased attitude within the University of Law’s Pakistan admissions network. Instead of maintaining transparency and fairness, they appear to give preference to personal connections and internal favoritism over genuine, deserving students.I strongly advise Pakistani students to think twice before applying to the University of Law. Their local admissions handling is unreliable, unprofessional, and lacks accountability. They do not value students’ time, effort, or aspirations, and their process can be easily influenced by personal relationships rather than merit or integrity.

Business Details

  • With a rich heritage and a reputation for innovation and contemporary teaching practices, we continuously focus on developing the best legal and business minds.

As the largest provider of legal education in the UK (HESA 2021/22), what really sets us apart from other universities is the guiding principle that future lawyers and business leaders should learn in a realistic, professional and contemporary context, with plenty of practical interactive engagement. That's why we keep our contact hours high and our teaching groups small.

All of our courses – from our undergraduate law degrees to our diverse range of business courses and postgraduate programmes – are designed with a unique, varied and innovative learning approach proven to deliver self-reliant professionals who can compete in the fast changing professional world.

Our track record of excellence in learning and development has helped us establish worldwide connections within the legal and business industries. We deliver legal training to 91 of the top 100 law firms, with exclusive relationships with 61 of the top UK law firms and many of the most prestigious US firms in the UK.

More than 250 of our lecturers are qualified lawyers and business professionals, and all have extensive practical experience which they are able to pass on to our students. We facilitate this process with high levels of student-to-lecturer contact time and small class sizes - one of the reasons that many firms insist their trainees study with us.

We focus exclusively on practice-based training and give students access to our expert Careers and Employability service database as soon as they accept a place with us. Students also benefit from our pioneering and award-winning pro bono programmes, which allow them to gain valuable work experience by helping real clients from the local community.

We have been ranked in the top 10 for our quality of teaching across UK universities in the National Student Survey 2024 (7th in England) and in the Office for Students (OfS) Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) 2023, we were awarded an overall Silver rating, with a Gold rating for Student Experience and Silver rating for the Student Outcomes.See more
