My mum, who is 92 next month ordered a Laybrook bed and leg lifter at a total cost of over £2,300. Told me the sales team were lovely to her and the bed arrived promptly as promised. It seems that she sat on it and realised that her physical condition prevented her from getting on the bed properly but was too timid to tell anyone for almost two weeks. I understand that the trial period is only 7 days but given that no-one has used the bed I hoped that Laybrook would consider accepting it back (possibly with a fee for collection). I phoned the customer services team who were also lovely but totally uncompromising. Told me that if they took it back it had to be destroyed even though it was basically brand new. I’m so sorry that my mum has lost her money and I’m a bit surprised that neither the sales people or the engineer who brought it in realised it was unsuitable. Lesson to be learnt - try it while the engineer is in the house!
