Strong program with real results and a supportive community

AIDA helped me successfully transition into instructional design with a job-ready portfolio and a clearer understanding of how professional learning gets built. The structure, feedback, and community support kept me moving forward, and I’m proud of the work I produced here. One thing that made a big difference for me was the 1:1 support from my success advisor. Knowing I could hop on a call when I felt stuck or behind gave me the accountability and encouragement I needed to finish. I understand AIDA is evolving and this level of support may not always be offered, but I hope they bring it back since it truly strengthened my experience.Overall, it’s a solid investment if you want hands-on projects, feedback from experts, and a clear path into the field.

Now I work from home and love it!

AIDA took me from k-12 educator to a real professional Instructional Designer in just 9 months. It was hard work but with the step-by-step guidance, I became a paid Instructional Designer just 6 months after my certification completion. Now, I work from home and love it!

If you are looking into the Instructional Design field...

If you are looking into the Instructional Design field, I would highly recommend the AIDA program. If you are a teacher who is desperate to leave the classroom, I would double the high recommendation!! There is continued support throughout the entire program and opportunities for more support after the 9-month program ends. The cohort groups are invaluable. The more active and involved you are in the group meetings and coaching calls, the more you will get out of the program. This was an investment that has been well worth every dollar spent.

Applied Instructional Design Academy helped me land my first ID job!

Applied Instructional Design Academy (Learning Strategy and Design) gave me everything I needed to land my first Instructional Design job and feel confident in the field! The hands-on experience with industry-standard tools was excellent, and getting feedback from working IDs was incredibly valuable. The community and mentorship support kept me motivated and accountable throughout the program.I built a strong portfolio with projects that demonstrate the skills employers are looking for. The comprehensive job readiness and career services support was outstanding; they helped me translate my teaching background into marketable ID skills for my resume and LinkedIn.What sets this program apart is how intentional they are about building a supportive community. It's not just about learning skills; it's about joining a network that continues beyond landing a job.I highly recommend this program to anyone considering a career in Instructional Design. It's truly changed my life and opened doors I never imagined possible!

Caution Recommended

While AIDA did many things well, in the end, despite my completing everything with fidelity and following their guidance, I didn't find that the promises lived up to reality. The potential salaries were much lower than indicated, and the number of graduates successfully transitioning is much lower (and the process and timeline) much more grueling and longer than realistic, given the significant financial investments made.

Life changing

This program is exceptional! The support, quality of material and resources from Kick Start through your first paycheck are unmatched. Coaches, working instructional designers, and even hiring managers provide guidance every step of the way, and the relationships you build with others in your cohort are invaluable.

Great Program!

Learning Strategy and Design has a great program. I feel confident in starting a new career as an instructional designer. It was a fun, self-paced course that I enjoyed with lots of support. I loved the people in my cohort group and am still friends with them today. I highly recommend it!

AIDA

Joining the Applied Instructional Design Academy was truly a turning point in my life. As a former teacher seeking a new career path, I was unsure of how to make the leap into instructional design until I attended a bootcamp led by Jill. From that first session, I knew I had found something special. What sets AIDA apart is the level of support they provide every step of the way. The coaching and feedback were helpful and essential in allowing me to grasp the iterative nature of instructional design. I learned how to think like an instructional designer, build a professional portfolio, and develop the confidence I needed to succeed in a brand-new field. My success advisor, Jennifer, was especially impactful. During moments when I struggled mentally or felt stuck, she was always there with guidance, encouragement, and just the right words to keep me moving forward. The community of learners was equally inspiring, motivating, supportive, and filled with people who understood exactly what I was going through. Thanks to AIDA, I didn’t just gain a new skill set, I found a new career and a renewed sense of purpose. If you're a teacher or career changer wondering if this path is right for you, I can't recommend AIDA highly enough. It’s not just a program, it’s a life-changing experience.

Self-Paced / You get out what you put in

The program is well scaffolded and is self paced. You definitely get out what you put into it. I was highly motivated and worked extremely hard and am very pleased that I just accepted a positon in the field after only 3 months of applying in one of the most competitive job markets! Not only that, I had 2 other offers to choose from. The support from start to closure and beyond is noncomparable and I am so happy I selected this program for myself over the other options out there.
