While the gardens are indeed lovely and the children's park stands out, my low rating is due to several issues: 1. Pricing — exorbitant for what's provided. It wouldn't be as frustrating if the other points didn't also apply. 2. No outside food or drink — charging high membership fees and then expecting families to buy overpriced food is just greedy. 3. When we got our annual membership, there was a food discount that was removed mid-year. 4. The illuminations had far too few tickets for members, favoring full-paying non-members, which feels greedy again. 5. Charging for spectators at the inflatables event is all I need to say. Honestly, your money is better spent with a more reputable organization that offers better value and supports conservation instead of a wealthy private family.

Restoration began when the present owner, Penny Streeter OBE, acquired the estate in 2017. Penny and her team are dedicated to restoring, maintaining and further improving the gardens and buildings, so that the public can once again experience their beauty and special qualities.
