We purchased an LG dishwasher (Model LDFC2423V) in September 2024. After less than two years of normal household use, the circulation pump has become extremely loud (grinding/humming noise) to the point that it’s difficult to have a conversation in the kitchen when the dishwasher is running.
We followed all troubleshooting steps recommended by LG support, including cleaning the filter, checking for debris, and running cleaning cycles. The noise persists even when the dishwasher is empty.
I opened support ticket #4110583 and later contacted LG through live chat. Unfortunately there was no continuity between the support interactions, and I had to repeat all of the same information again.
The representative confirmed the pump/motor has a 10-year warranty, but LG will not provide the replacement part unless you schedule an authorized technician, which would require paying $200–300 in labor to repair a $450 dishwasher.
I even offered to replace the pump myself (I’m a mechanical engineer), but was told LG cannot send the part directly.
A major appliance developing a failing pump in under two years is disappointing enough, but the warranty process makes the situation worse. At this point the cost to access the warranty part is nearly the cost of replacing the dishwasher.
Very disappointed in both the product durability and LG’s customer support process.
