Purchased a French Door (4 door) fridge (Australia) in Feb 2020 for AU$3,500. Also purchased the extended warranty. 1 month out of warranty (& only 6 yrs old) the fridge stops cooling.
. Have lost approx $750 worth of food
. Waited 20 days for technician to arrive & says it can be fixed at a cost of $900. The fridge clearly has a label saying that the compressor has a 10 year warranty - compressor only. Parts & labour costs NOT included. Compressor has a price of about $350 but the “call-out fee”, labour & any other parts total about $900.
Costs: fridge $3,500
Loss of food $750
Purchase bar fridge $200 (just to cope over the wait time for technician)
Repair cost $900
TOTAL: $5,350
EXPENSIVE FRIDGE!!!!
