Unpleasant Checkout Experience

While waiting to check out, the cashier abruptly asked my wife and me, "Are you paying cash? Because I don’t take cash here." There is a more courteous way to phrase that instead of assuming we would pay with cash. We informed her that we have a credit card. When I inquired why she assumed cash, she replied that she just wanted to ask customers. After scanning our groceries, she didn’t thank us. She seemed polite to the man behind us, who shared a similar background. As an Asian individual with a Spanish name, it felt disheartening. It’s essential for your staff to be trained to treat all customers with kindness and respect.
