Be very, very careful when dealing with returns involving this company. We purchased a chest of drawers and 2 bedside cabinets. One of the cabinets was damaged but, leaving this aside, when the furniture arrived it did not appear to the same colour as within the website online (but no doubt Lifestyle will say that these can come up with differing shades etc). We therefore invoked the 14 day return under the Sale of Goods Act.Under "important information" attached to the sales invoice, it states "retain original box and packing in case you need to return the item". Otherwise, there was no direct link to the company's terms and conditions nor specific details relating to returns etc.We paid extra to have the unwrapping option and also for the items to be carried upstairs.The driver took all the packaging away, pretty much without our noticing as we were upstairs viewing the furniture.As stated earlier, we tried to invoke the returns condition but Lifestyle stated that we had to repack the items either in the original packaging or at our own expense.To repeat, the driver took the packaging away.Numerous emails were exchanged before they came up at the eleventh hour with "Terms and Conditions F3" (first time they had appeared) which stated that "the unwrapping service includes disposal by the driver".Thus, we have to repackage the items in the original packaging which has been taken away by the driver as part of the standard unwrapping service. Catch 22 still lives after all these years.Trying to get cardboard packaging for an item as large as a chest of drawers has proved to be impossible. Companies will make up bespoke boxes but only for a minimum number, certainly not a one off. We are therefore stuck.Abysmal lack of interest and customer service on behalf of Lifestyle Furniture.At the very least, to prevent someone else being mugged, Lifestyle could at least make specific mention on their invoices that any customer should go online to view the full company terms and conditions with particular reference to F3 and not wait until the eleventh hour before dropping it on you. An actual link to the website would also draw customer's attention to it. Be warned, whatever you do, always insist on keeping the original packaging, particularly when using the unwrapping service!
