I've gotten an opportunity to run the 2.0 system in both build while I build the Lego and add after I build the Lego. I much prefer the add after the Lego is built process. The instructions are great all around. I'll definitely get more.My only complaint is a personal preference. It was that I really hoped that the light as you build instructions combined the Lego instructions with the lighting, instead of writing a whole new packet of instructions. I felt getting whole bunch of new instructions that I'd have to either print out or read off a screen to be less "immersive" or wasteful. I was hoping for "Build Lego steps 1-20 and at 21 do this for lights!" type instructions. Again, it's a personal preference.
