I originally contacted Lightwave support because I was unsure if their dimmers would work with my setup. I was told that my MR16 bulbs were untested - 'however this isn’t to say that they wouldn’t be compatible as the smart dimmers are able to change from leading- trailing edge mode, along with auto and manual calibration'. I was therefore advised to give them a try so I purchased a dimmer and hub to test and, after professional fitting, everything worked as expected. I then purchased a further 7 dimmers and waited many months to get them professionally fitted due to the ongoing lockdown situation. After a few months one of my dimmers stopped working. I contacted Lightwave who agreed to swap it over. This again cost me money in getting the replacement professionally fitted. After the latest firmware update, all of my dimmers started to fail. I contacted support immediately who took over a week to respond properly leaving me with no lights in the kitchen and bathroom for that time. I was then told that the dimmers would never work with my bulbs and that I had purchased the dimmers at my own risk. Had I ever been told this I would certainly never had purchased them - the lights in your house are certainly not something that you want to take a gamble on. I was therefore either faced with Lightwave dimmers that would continually leave me without working lights due to Lightwave's refusal to refund me or face the difficult decision to again pay for all of the dimmers to be removed and to have my original switches reinstated. This has cost me over £1000 in total. Lightwave basically keep a very small compatibility list that they have tested their dimmers with - if your bulbs are not on that list they will not warn you that your dimmers may fail at any time leaving you out of pocket and without lights. My experience of this company has been absolutely dreadful. To make matters worse their new sales team keep contacting me to try and sell me more dimmers! Never again.
