I saw Mark Durfee for a skin rash covering 1/3 of my face. I'd been to an urgent care, treating it with a topical fungal cream for 7 days, but it was getting worse, so was now on an oral and topical antibacterial. Durfee told me to scrub the scabs off my face and after my objection sighting the healing skin underneath he reasoned it is "just dead skin" then proscribed me a topical and oral steroid. On a gut feeling I didn't follow any of his advice. After seeing a dermatologist at Beth Isreal Hospital they confirmed peeling the scabs would have exposed the healing skin and put me at risk for further infection and taking the steroids would have lowered my immunity and made it easier for the rash to grow. What's scarier is I went to leave this review on his account to warn future patients because he could have made me significantly sicker and there is no option to leave a review. How do all the doctors have 5 stars if I can't leave a review anywhere?
