This review is specifically about the World Finance branch in Greenville, Alabama. I recieved a pre-approval loan offer in the mail from World Finance and visited the branch in person to apply for the loan. A few hours after I left, I was told on the phone by the manager named "Fonda" that I was approved, and she told me to bring 2 forms of ID and my latest check stub. She told me that was all I needed. Upon returning to the branch however, she was acting strange when going over my check stub. She still ran my information through the system, but just at the end before she funded my loan, she demanded that I provide another check stub from before this one, and asked me for the phone number to my employer. I told her I couldn't get another check stub for her until Monday morning because it was past 5:30 on a Friday and our HR was closed for the weekend, but I happily gave her my supervisor's name and number. But when she couldn't get them to answer, she then demanded I either show her my last direct deposit or she couldn't fund my loan. I tried to login to my banking app but as luck would have it, they were doing maintenance right as I tried to login. So "Fonda" told me there was nothing else she could do unless I could magically get my supervisor to answer her calls when they probably weren't even at the office anymore. I was confused - like, how are you going to tell me I'm APPROVED for the loan, then tell me all that I needed was a check stub and 2 forms of ID (which I provided) just to change your mind last second because you feel weird? It's literally just a 500 dollar loan that I planned to pay back within 2 weeks to build my credit up. It's also worth mentioning I saw 2 other customers in the office at the same time as me, and NEITHER of them had their check stubs questioned. I'm not the most sociable person, and maybe I seemed off at first, but if I provide what you asked me for and you just go back on your offer because your "gut tells you to", you clearly shouldn't be in the loan business. You just lost what could've been a long-term customer, and if this "Fonda" lady continues to run this World Finance branch then I'll be surprised if their ratings don't tank. They only seem to have competent staff at other branches across the country.
