I booked a flight with lol.travel at the beginning of March through their website. I never received a confirmation email, though my booking was visible on the website.In early May, my flight was canceled. The day after receiving the cancellation notification, lol.travel offered an alternative flight. Unfortunately, this alternative didn’t work for me as it was significantly different from the original. I requested another option, and they suggested a second flight. At this point, I was also informed that I would have to pay a €55 management fee, which, according to European law, is not legal.The entire communication process took place through a chat function on their website. The flight options provided were just text and numbers, which I had to use ChatGPT to decipher. There was no clear, understandable overview of the changes, neither in the chat nor on the website, which still showed my original booking.The chat function itself was frustrating. I could only access it via an email link, not directly on their website. I also tried calling their helpdesk, but the number didn’t go through.After losing confidence in their ability to offer a suitable alternative flight, I requested a refund for my original ticket. Unfortunately, they bombarded me with additional management fees and other costs that they refused to refund, meaning I would lose over €100 in total.I’ve filed an official complaint with the European Consumer Centre to get the unlawful charge refunded.Overall, this experience was incredibly unpleasant. The communication was unclear and disorganized. I will never book with lol.travel again.
