Unreliable delivery

I paid £16.99 for the narrowed delivery window but the delivery service you receive falls well below the standard you would expect for that price.The live tracker they provide is very unreliable. At the start of the day it was estimating a delivery time of around 10:46am but this steadily slipped back to after 12:30pm. The result is you have to be constantly available in case the cake arrives, but then have to hover and waste your time as it is progressively delayed. Additionally, their aim appears to be to deliver at the latest time possible within your delivery window, rather than getting it to you as quickly as they can. At one point I was the 5th stop on the list but the next time I looked I had fallen back to the 7th stop. The only explanation is that they picked up additional items to deliver, pushing my delivery back in the schedule. My conclusion is that Lola’s Cupcakes delivery service is not a good faith attempt to get your delivery to you as soon as possible. Even when you pay extra for the premium delivery service, you should expect them to aim to do the bare minimum, rather than making an effort to deliver a premium service. This is a poor service. Even Deliveroo lets you pay £2.50 to avoid other deliveries taking priority over yours.
