What a joke!

My husband and I are kinda of a regular customers — we’ve booked three holidays with LoveHoliday in under a year (but maybe it’s not enough- who knows).Unfortunately, our most recent trip to Corfù turned into what can only be described as a full-blown survival challenge, minus the fun camera crew, bug spray, or prize money.I first tried to speak to the hotel reception about our (several) issues, but we were repeatedly dismissed — as if complaining about not being able to sleep was some sort of exotic hobby of ours. After two terrible nights, when we finally gave up and booked new flights home (yes, out of our own pockets), suddenly the hotel decided they could offer us a room or hotel change. Lovely timing. Unfortunately, we were already halfway to the airport.I then decided to raise the issue with LoveHoliday, who refused any compensation for the two sleepless nights, saying — and I quote — “It’s not like changing a towel. A top mattress takes time and it was delivered the next day.”To clarify:We were in a double bed. They provided ONE single mattress topper.Next issue: The insects. The hotel was apparently “surrounded by natural environment” so according to them, it was normal to have wasp 🐝 in September. Wait…. We landed on the 15th of October, well past “mosquito season”. Yet we found them in our BREAKFAST, LUNCH, and DINNER PLATE. My husband was stung, and unless the hotel is secretly operating as a wildlife sanctuary, this is not normal for a supposed 4-star resort. Then there was the bathroom, which appeared to be in its early stages of construction. The drain didn’t work, and we were told they had “fixed the issue” — after we had already flown back to London. Very helpful. WiFi situation? The website advertised WiFi in communal areas. The communal areas were closed, because it was literally raining inside. So apparently, our holiday was meant to consist of being locked in our room with no internet, one TV channel, and a mattress topper designed for one half of one person. For five nights. So yes — we would have expected a proper compensation for a holiday that quickly turned into a sleep-deprived jungle camp experience. We were expecting a relaxing break, not The Hunger Games: Corfu Edition.
