Mis-sold holiday, impossible to contact, pressured for cancellation fees
I had an extremely poor experience with Love Holidays that I feel others should be aware of.
I booked a package holiday from the UK to Bodrum on the clear basis that it included direct flights, as I was travelling with my 85-year-old father. Indirect flights were not suitable, and this was a key factor in my booking decision.
Once the booking was confirmed, I discovered that the flights were indirect via Istanbul, and the accommodation was not what we had selected. This fundamentally changed the nature of the holiday and made it unsuitable.
I attempted to cancel immediately after discovering these issues. However, Love Holidays was extremely difficult to contact. I spent hours on hold over several days and could not reach anyone. When I finally managed to speak to a representative, I explicitly cancelled the booking.
Despite this, Love Holidays have repeatedly claimed the booking is “not cancelled in their system” and have continued to pressure me to agree to £775+ in cancellation charges, while ignoring the mis-selling, the unsuitable flights, and their own failure to provide accessible customer support. Their responses focus solely on demanding money rather than addressing the actual issues raised.
I have cancelled all future payments and am now having to escalate the matter further, which could have been avoided with basic customer service and fair handling.
Based on my experience, I would urge others to be extremely cautious. If anything goes wrong, you may find it very difficult to get hold of anyone, and reasonable concerns may be dismissed in favour of enforcing fees.
