I'm an currently in Lagos Algarve. I booked with Love Holidays. I'm a solo traveller. I am in the Ancora Park Hotel. It a 45 minute walk into Lagos old town. That is the only town for miles by foot. No cafes no hotels just hundreds of empty homes, all holiday homes. No supermarket that I could see. It's 5 euros each way into Lagos old town for food and water as the hotel only give you two small bottles of water first night. The only restaurant in this hotel closes at 10 pm so if you arrive late you go hungry all night. This place has no entertainment none, no people as they all go out, as nothing here. The pool is freezing cold so cannot swim, no indoor pool. If you happen to ask for a bottle of water you are denied, you need to pay for it at the much inflated bar prices and no guest there ever. If you have a room overlooking the pool, it's bare and uninspiring The pool never see anybody around it. The hotel gives free apples which are awful, not sweet and with very thick skin, bruised. So If I want any action I must pay at least 10 euros just to go in and out of Legos each day, just to eat. Most meals are over 13 euros. It's an expensive place. It's miles from Faro airport. It took over 1.5 hrs to get here to nothingness.
When I asked to be moved the very next day I was denied. Love holidays were simply useless, I spent 25, pounds calling them to be moved. My gold and pearls Victorian broach was stolen from my room, I told the told the hotel staff who scrubbed it off as nothing. They refused to give me a letter to say I reported it missing. They did not say please, have a drink on us to ease the pain, nothing. In fact they were rude under the circumstances and made me feel helpless. One local bus per hr to Lagos old town from here or a 45 min walk. All in all, Love Holidays were simply useless and I am stuck here for 9 nights. The room is boring no pics on the walls no long mirror and the TV very small and hard to navigate. They give two coffee pods per day only, no milk. The fridge is so small you can hardly fits anything in to keep cool. There is no love or heart anywhere to be found is this do called 4 star hotel. Avoid this hotel and Love Holidays as when the chips are down they don't give a monkeys about your well being. Try TUI or Cox and Kings far superior, aftercare.
