I bought a pair of hiking boots for my daily walks with my dog in the forest. My first impression was really good. But after half a year the rubber and leather on the nose of my left shoe parted and let water in. Not happy. But Lowa guarantees quality for 12 months or so so I contacted the shop, my shoes were sent to Lowa for inspection and, honestly, I wasn’t worried; this was clearly a production error. Imagine my surprise when my shoes were returned to me, unrepaired, no refund, no replacement because according to Lowa ‘I had used my shoes in a way they should not have been used’ and ‘I had not maintained them accurately’. Shocking! I wálked on my shoes, nothing more, nothing less. I sprayed them when I got them and in this half year I had not used them thát much to feel the urge to spray them again. Now, a year after I bought them (I kept walking on them in dry weather), the left shoe has completely come apart, the right shoe is fine. Time for new ones, but nòt from Lowa.
