Went for an evening meal with a friend at Medina Quay, Newport, Isle of Wight last Saturday and was extremely disappointed.Ordered a medium fillet steak. When it arrived, the only way to describe it would be cindered and not looking anything like a fillet steak, more like sirloin. I returned this and a little while later was presented with another steak, at least cooked correctly, but again definitely NOT a fillet, however I ate this piece of tough, chewy meat as we were going on to a show and did not have time to send this one back and wait for another. When I pointed this out to our waitress, all I got was a shrug of the shoulders and told "these things happen", not so much as an apology, an offer of a reduction in price, as it was not a fillet steak or a free dessert. Not good customer service!! I know I am not a butcher, but I do know my steaks as it is one of my favourite meals when I go out. Maybe your "microwave" cooks need to be shown what various steaks look like!!
