It seems that the company at the airport does not properly inspect rental vehicles after customers who have insurance return them. They appear to focus their inspections on those who opt out of their insurance, charging them for damages that have accumulated from insured customers. Upon receiving the vehicle, I noticed significant damages that were hard to overlook, which I had to ask to be documented. Some minor damages were dismissed by the representative as too trivial to note. I chose not to purchase their insurance this time, as my travel insurance also covers the car. After returning the vehicle, the report I received included damages I had previously highlighted at checkout, which were deemed too small to record. Fortunately, I had taken photos to demonstrate that I did not cause those damages. However, I did discover additional scratches that I had missed during checkout, which is my oversight, and my insurance will need to cover those costs. If renting from this company at the airport without their insurance, I recommend using video to capture the entire vehicle to avoid missing any minor scratches. Additionally, insist on documenting any scratches, even if they are considered too small.
